The service

BEARING (“we”, “the platform”) provides mountain condition intelligence, destination reports, and curated journey listings. The reports are editorial in nature — they represent informed analysis, not guarantees of conditions. Mountain travel involves inherent risk; the intelligence we provide informs decisions but does not replace professional guide services or local safety advice.

Accounts and membership

Free accounts require a valid email address. Paid memberships (Bearing Pro, Expedition Club) are billed through Stripe. Pro memberships are refundable within 30 days of initial purchase if the service is not useful to you — contact us at support@bearingtravel.com. Expedition Club memberships are annual; pro-rata refunds are handled case by case.

You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Your account reverts to the free tier; your data is retained unless you choose to delete your account.

Use of content

Reports, scores, editorial copy, and the BEARING brand are proprietary. You may share individual report links freely. Reproducing report content in bulk, scraping the site, or using BEARING content in commercial products without written permission is prohibited.

Journey bookings

Journeys listed on BEARING are facilitated through our team and partner operators. Inquiry submission is not a booking; it initiates an advisory conversation. Actual booking terms, deposits, and cancellation policies are set by the specific operator and communicated during the planning process.

Limitation of liability

BEARING provides editorial intelligence, not safety guidance. We are not liable for decisions made based on report content, including but not limited to travel bookings, route choices, or timing decisions. Mountain conditions are inherently variable and unpredictable; our scores and assessments represent best-available intelligence at the time of publication.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated by email to account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
