This week

The dominant story this week is a persistent cold, dry pattern across the Canadian Rockies, where Sunshine Village and Lake Louise are holding exceptional snowpack with no rain days and temperatures well below freezing. A separate and meaningful Pacific storm track is targeting the Pacific Northwest over the next 14 days, with Crystal Mountain and Whistler both showing accumulation forecasts that demand attention — particularly Whistler, where 31.9 inches of forecast snow over the next two weeks represents a genuine late-season reload on an already massive base. The Rockies present a more complicated picture: Jackson Hole recorded three rain days in the past week and zero new snow, though a significant 31.8-inch forecast cycle could redeem it decisively if temperatures hold. Europe is a pass this week — Andermatt's seven consecutive rain days disqualify it from serious consideration regardless of what the base depth says.
