Grand Teton Backcountry
The Tetons above the resort. A different kind of skiing.
Overview
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is exceptional. The terrain above and around it is something else entirely. This journey uses the resort infrastructure as a starting point and ventures into the Grand Teton National Park backcountry via the Teton Range's southern couloirs — skiing lines that require permits, local knowledge, and technical competence that most resort skiers will never develop.
Who This Is For
Expert skiers with avalanche certifications and some backcountry experience. This is not a beginner backcountry introduction. It is a guided immersion in one of America's most demanding and rewarding ski ranges.
Timing Intelligence
The Teton backcountry peaks mid-January through early March. Our Jackson Hole intelligence reports track snowpack by aspect — the north-facing couloirs of the central Teton Range require a specific snowpack depth and stability profile that only occurs in certain winters. Bearing monitors this from October; members are the first to know when the season is breaking right.
