Antarctic Peninsula Ski Expedition
The seventh continent. First descents still available.
Overview
Antarctica is the final frontier in ski mountaineering. The Antarctic Peninsula — accessible by expedition vessel from Ushuaia — contains peaks that have never been skied, in a landscape of absolute scale and silence. This eighteen-day expedition combines zodiac landings, mountaineering, and ski descents of peaks chosen by conditions and wind windows. There is no infrastructure. There are no crowds. There is nothing like it.
Who This Is For
Expedition-calibre alpinists with ski mountaineering experience. This is not a commercial ski trip with a loose adventure wrapper. The Antarctic environment is genuinely demanding — physical fitness, cold tolerance, and psychological comfort with uncertainty are prerequisites.
Timing Intelligence
The Antarctic Peninsula's accessible season runs November through March — the austral summer. January and February offer the most stable weather and 20+ hours of daylight. March offers the last window before the sea ice reforms. Bearing has relationships with two expedition vessel operators that prioritise mountaineering access over tourism itineraries.
